Paper or E-Tickets?
Not so long ago, airlines issue tickets in a form of a printed paper containing the flight details such as the flight date, flight number, the name of the traveler, the name of the airlines, and the seat number. Yet, there are some challenges both travelers and the airlines face when it comes to paper tickets. Lost tickets, delivery concerns and changes in flight schedules are only some of the said challenges.
Today, airlines issue another form of tickets that provides the convenience needed by both parties: the electronic tickets. Electronic tickets, usually called e-tickets, are easier to handles as compared to paper tickets. When booking a flight reservation online or via phone call, the traveler or the person who booked the reservation is often given a confirmation code and an email containing the information about the flight is sent to his email address instantly. This process is faster as compared to having to wait for at least two days before your paper tickets are delivered to your postal address. The issuance of e-tickets also reduces the cases of lost tickets as the confirmation email can be printed by the traveler as many as he opts to.
Losing the printed copy of the email confirmation is also not a problem as the only information a traveler needs is his flight schedule and the booking code of his reservation and he will be able to check in at the airport kiosks.
