Many individuals are hesitant to go camping in the woods because they are used to the comforts and luxuries offered by city living. Some may have issues about wanting to have hot showers, wanting to use their laptop computers and cellular phones as well as wanting to catch up on their reading under good lighting condition.

Little do these individuals know that they can get such modern day luxuries even though they are in the middle of the woods by taking advantage of the greatest source of energy known to man; the sun. Solar tents are now available in the market, to the delight of many people who love to camp. These tents have solar panels which captures sunlight in order to power its interior LED lights. The solar energy captured by the panels can also be used to charge batteries. Thus, campers can now charge the batteries of their laptops, cellular phones, and ipods. Also available in the market nowadays are solar charged razors. Campers can now have a good shave even if they have set camp in the middle of the woods.

For those who want to enjoy hot showers, a little effort is required as portable solar powered showers are not yet developed. But, by leaving a water bag under direct sunlight for three hours to get warm, they can enjoy the warm water for bathing afterwards.
